With its limited road sections and challenging terrain, the Moyleman is one of the UK’s most beautiful races (in our opinion!), and one of the friendliest, too.
The race starts at 10 am on Sunday 16th March 2025 from Wallands Primary School, and the last runner will cross the line at 4 pm at Harvey’s Yard, in central Lewes.
The route traverses the hills surrounding the county town of Lewes: halfway and the relay changeover is at the Southease YHA and there are a number of water stations throughout the race.
Each finisher will receive a bespoke pint glass, courtesy of Harvey’s – along with pizza, a pint, and a free massage.
This is a challenging race, there are no two ways about it!
It takes runners through remote parts of the countryside, is packed with hills, and is vulnerable to the unstable weather conditions that March brings.
Only 15% of runners of the full distance complete the race in under 4 hours, with the majority taking between 4 & 5 hours to finish.
As last year, we are implementing a 3-hour cut-off at halfway for the full-distance race and we will be asking runners who take longer 3 hours for the first half to step off the course at Southease.
Dogs are welcome to take part and all runners must carry plenty of water and sustenance, and wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
We would encourage you to travel by public transport to the race where possible.
Lewes Station is about 1 mile from the school and a short walk from the finish.
There is limited parking at the start, but ample spaces at Lewes County Hall (free to park on Sundays) and car parks across Lewes.
